Contrast Present Simple and Present Continuous

PRESENT SIMPLE & PRESENT CONTINUOUS

We use the Present Simple to talk about habits or routines

We use the Present Continuous to talk about actions happening now or temporary actions

Describing appearance and personality

 When describing somebody, you may want to describe one's appearance or personality

If you ask: What do you  look like? What does he/she look like? You are asking about physical appearance. 

If you ask: What is he /she like? You are asking about personality
